HST Filament 160/25 Shrink Tape (exact reference: 0.040 mm × 25 mm × 1000 m) is a technical heat-shrink film manufactured by Diatex. It is specifically designed for the compaction and consolidation of carbon fiber laminates and other composite materials during heat curing processes.
Key Technical Features
Dimensions: 0.040 mm (40 μm) thickness × 25 mm width × 1000 m roll length.
Service Temperature: Suitable for use at temperatures up to 160°C (320°F).
Self-Release Properties: Manufactured from biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP), the film does not contaminate the laminate and can be easily removed after curing, leaving a smooth, high-gloss surface finish.
Application: The tape's shrink force helps compact the laminate, expel entrapped air, and remove excess resin. It is particularly well suited for the manufacture and repair of tubular and cylindrical composite structures, such as bicycle frames, fishing rods, and similar components.
Benefits
Improves laminate consolidation
Reduces void content
Promotes resin control and uniform fiber distribution
Delivers a high-quality surface finish without additional release agents
Easy removal after the curing cycle is complete
