Spabond 400 Slow Hardener is the extended-working-time component engineered by Gurit for the Spabond 400 Series structural adhesive system. It combines the beneficial properties of the legacy 300-series "Slow" and "Extra-Slow" hardeners into a single product, allowing ample time to assemble large or complex structures.
Key Technical Specifications
- Mix Ratio: Retains the identical 3:1 by volume (or 100:30 by weight) ratio as the fast variant.
- Pot Life: Approximately 3 hours and 20 minutes at 20°C (for a 100g mix in air).
- Thin Film Working Time: Provides up to 6 hours of working time in thin layers, preventing premature skinning over large surface areas.
- Clamp Time: Requires approximately 15 to 16 hours at 20°C to achieve initial handling strength, making it ideal for overnight curing cycles.
- Visual Indicator: The slow hardener is uniquely pigmented green. Once mixed with the resin, it leaves a distinct color indicator to verify a thoroughly blended, streak-free consistency.
